This spalted Hackberry side table has beautiful details and a ton of character. This table was cut from a larger piece that had extensive pest damage. I made several attempts at creating larger tables, and each time I realized that there was too much damage and it had to be made smaller to remove the damage. This table is where I ended up. The wood is solid with some remnants of the damage which add to the uniqueness. Once the wood was shaped and sanded, it was finished with a blend of natural oils to keep it looking great for years. The tabletop sits on three mid-century modern hairpin legs which have been powder coated black for a durable finish.
